The Bana Hills cable car system is quite special and actually holds multiple Guinness World Records. When it first opened way back in 2013 it was officially the longest non-stop single-track cable car in the world, measuring 5,801 metres. Today the system has grown and runs across five different routes which connect the base station near Da Nang to the summit area where you will find the Golden Bridge and the other attractions.
The five cable car routes that you can take are:
Together these routes can move up to 6,000 visitors per hour. A one-way ride takes you somewhere between 17 to 25 minutes depending on which route you happen to be on, and you will go from sea level all the way up to over 1,400 metres altitude in that time. Along the way the route passes over thick rainforest, waterfalls and limestone cliffs and on a clear day you can actually see all the way out to the East Sea.

Da Nang Transportation Packages: It offers transportation packages to all the visitors traveling to Da Nang and provides them with shuttle bus services.
If you happen to be based in Hoi An, you can actually also pair Ba Na Hills together with a separate Hoi An day trip as the combined drive is just about 90 minutes each way.
NOTE: The prices of tickets to Ba Na Hills are being updated by Sunworld every year and we would suggest you to confirm the latest price and always refer to their pricing page. These prices are updated and valid till 31st December 2026.
The Golden Bridge (Cầu Vàng) is by far the most photographed spot at Bana Hills and probably the reason most people end up visiting in the first place. It first opened to visitors in 2018 and is about 150 metres long, designed to look like it is being held up by two giant stone hands that appear to come right out of the mountain. The bridge itself sits at around 1,400 metres altitude and goes across a forested gorge giving you panoramic views over the surrounding hills.
A common question we get asked is whether the Golden Bridge is included in the main ticket or not. The answer is yes, it is fully included in your standard cable car ticket and there is no extra cost. Once you get off at the upper cable car station, the bridge is just about a 5-minute walk through the French Village area. You are also allowed to walk across the bridge as many times as you want during your visit, so feel free to come back later if you missed a photo angle.
The best time to visit the Golden Bridge in our experience is:
Plan to spend about 15 to 30 minutes at the bridge to walk the full length and take photos at both ends. The walkway itself is fairly narrow so movement can slow down during the busy hours. Also keep in mind that the bridge is at high altitude, so the temperature can be around 5 to 10 degrees cooler than what you experience down in Da Nang, so a light jacket is a good idea if you are visiting between November and February.
There are actually a few legitimate ways to save some money on Ba Na Hills tickets if you know where to look:
A few things to know about when to book your ticket:
On weekends and during public holidays, and especially during Tet (lunar new year), Ba Na Hills can actually sell out by mid-morning. We would suggest booking 2 to 3 days in advance to be safe on these dates. On the other hand, on regular weekdays outside of peak season you can usually just buy at the gate without much of a wait.
One thing to avoid: scalpers and any unofficial resellers offering Ba Na Hills tickets at heavy discounts. The pricing is consistent across all the official channels (Sun World, Klook, GetYourGuide and the licensed Da Nang tour operators) so there is no real "deep discount" available out there even though some sites might claim otherwise.
Tickets can be obtained directly at the entrance or bought online from different websites, such as the official website of Sun World. It will always be cheaper to book directly from Sun World rather than third party websites (Note - Sun World website at the time of publishing this blog is not mobile responsive, so we suggest you browse it on a tablet or a computer).
It is better to book online due to the following reasons:
Save Time: No more queuing, particularly during peak seasons.
Discounts: Sometimes, online sites like Klook/Getyourguide offer pretty good discounts or combo deals.
You can also get 5% discount if you book through Sun world mobile app.
Convenience: Some of them have transportation from Da Nang, making it easy for international visitors.
The Golden Bridge: One of the most Instagrammable places in Vietnam, an interesting image of a bridge held by giant stone hands, which leads to every panoramic view.
French Village: A replica of a 19th-century village with lots of narrow, small cobblestone streets lined with classic European-type buildings.
Fantasy Park: Indoor Amusement Park with Games and Rides, very appealing for families.
Linh Ung Pagoda: Serene Buddhist temple on top of the mountain.
Gardens of Flowers: This is an amazing botanical garden that adds colors and tranquility to the adventure.
Due to its altitude, Ba Na Hills are cooler all year round. Tourist high season ranges between April and August, while the off-season is from September to March. If you want to have some quiet time at the Golden Bridge, come either at dawn or late afternoon when the atmosphere is serene and temperature-wise cool.
If you want to avoid crowds, try to book a ticket for Ba Na Hills on weekdays as a lot of people visit Ba Na Hills on weekends from Friday to Sunday.
Weather Check: Bring your light jacket, as the weather changes suddenly; this is especially so in cases of rain.
Carry Essentials: Water and sun protection are advisable since walking and exploring take time.
Meal Plan: There are eateries inside Ba Na Hills that are highly priced. You can consider a buffet combo in case your stay will exceed a few hours.
Avoiding Peak Hours: Try arriving very early in the morning to avoid long queues for the cable car.
Pair with Da Nang attractions: If you happen to be spending more than a couple of days in central Vietnam, do also check out our Da Nang travel guide for more places worth visiting in the area.
Extend to Phong Nha: If you are looking for a totally different kind of adventure after Da Nang, you could also extend your trip to the Phong Nha caves which are quite well known for jungle treks and underground rivers.
Buying at the gate often means standing in a long line before you even get to the cable car line. If you book online through the official site or a trusted partner, you get a QR code sent to your phone. This allows you to walk straight to the cable car entrance and skip the ticket booths entirely. It is the best way to ensure you are among the first people at the top in the morning.
The Wow Pass is a premium skip the line add-on that costs about 300,000 VND. It gives you a priority lane for the cable car stations, which can save you over an hour of waiting in the heat on busy days. If you are visiting on a weekend or during a public holiday like Tet, it is a massive time saver, but for a quiet Tuesday morning, you probably don't need it.
It is not possible to buy these separately. Because the cable car is the only way to reach the mountain, the cable car ticket and the entrance fee are the same thing. One ticket gets you the round trip journey, access to the French Village, the Golden Bridge, and the rides at Fantasy Park.
While your main ticket covers most of the park and the cable car, the Alpine Coaster now requires a separate fee to keep the massive lines moving. For the 2026 season, a single ride on the coaster costs 70,000 VND. If you are a big fan of the ride, look for a combo ticket at the park kiosks that offers three rides for about 180,000 VND.
The most common point of confusion in 2026 is seeing resident rates mixed up with tourist rates. For international and domestic tourists, the official adult entrance fee is 950,000 VND. If you see a price like 600,000 or 750,000 VND, those are usually the discounted rates for local Da Nang residents. Always check that you are looking at the international rate to avoid being asked to pay the difference at the gate.
Yes, there's free luggage storage at the main entrance gate, open until closing time.
Fantasy Park has paid lockers (VND50,000 to VND100,000 per day).
If staying at Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills, complimentary storage is included.
Outside food and drinks are not allowed at Ba Na Hills. The park wants to keep the forest pristine and beautiful. Good news: plenty of on-site restaurants, cafes, and buffets serve everything from Vietnamese to Indian food.
Pets are not allowed either, so arrange boarding in Da Nang if needed.
Mini tip: Pre-order meals at the buffet to skip queues.
Yes, residents of Da Nang can enjoy discounted ticket prices by presenting valid local identification at the time of purchase.
Adults need an original ID card, passport, or household registration book plus a photo ID like a driver's license. Children need a birth certificate plus parent's ID if traveling together, or a student card, household book, or passport. Gate staff verify documents before boarding, no photocopies accepted.
Yes, Ba Na Hills, due to its elevation of about 1,500 meters above sea level, usually feels cooler compared to its surroundings. The temperature may drop, especially at night, so one is advised to have a light jacket when going.
Early morning and late afternoon provide less crowd and the perfect light of Golden Bridge. An evening ticket can be availed from 3 pm onwards, meaning less crowd for a peaceful experience.
No, the cable car is the only way to reach Ba Na Hills. The system holds multiple Guinness World Records, including the longest non-stop cable car system, providing visitors with an awe-inspiring ride up the mountainside.
It takes between 17 and 25 minutes depending on the route that is taken in this car cable. Pictorial scenery of forests and waterfalls adds to this journey.
Ba Na Hills are about 35 kilometers from Da Nang and about 70 kilometers from Hoi An.
It takes about 30 minutes by car from downtown Da Nang. From Da Nang Airport, expect 40 to 50 minutes. During Tet and holidays, add 15 to 20 minutes for traffic. The park has special Tet events with seasonal flowers in late January 2026.
Ba Na Hill is famous for its many tourist attractions: Golden Bridge supported by two stone hands, fake French village, beautiful gardens, and Fantasy Park amusement center.
Yes, Bana Hills really offers a unique mixture of adventure, cultural experience, and nature's beauty. With the entertainment of Golden Bridge, French Village, and diverse landscapes, the place actually offers a memorable experience to visitors.
If you ask me, yes personally I felt it a bit touristy and maybe if you are someone who likes to explore places less traveled, you might not like it that much. But nevertheless give it a try if you can.
I was pleasantly surprised by it even though I am someone who likes to avoid crowds and commercial tourist attractions.
You might just end up loving it especially if you are with family/friends :)
