Tour Details
Your Victory Cave adventure begins at 8:00 a.m., when your guide picks you up from your accommodation in the Phong Nha area. After meeting at the Jungle Boss office, you will be fitted with the necessary equipment, briefed on the itinerary and safety rules, and asked to complete a waiver form before departure. The group then travels by vehicle to Km 15 on Road 20 Quyet Thang, the starting point of the trek.
From here, you trek along the crystal-clear Tra Ang Stream, enjoying the cool air and natural surroundings before reaching the Tra Ang campsite. Jungle Boss chefs will have lunch ready, with dishes such as grilled chicken, grilled pork, grilled tofu, and other local specialities.
After lunch, the safety assistants will help you put on a life jacket and a helmet with a headlamp before you begin a 300-metre swim into Tra Ang Cave. As you swim through the cool water in the darkness, your guides will explain how this distinctive water cave was formed, making the experience both fascinating and memorable.
After swimming back to the cave entrance, you continue trekking for about one hour to the Ma Da Lake campsite. The route is relatively easy, with a few gentle slopes and several short sections of sharp karst terrain.
At the campsite, you are free to swim, freshen up, and relax before enjoying a nutritious dinner featuring dishes such as beef stew, tofu in tomato sauce, braised amberjack in a clay pot, and mixed-vegetable soup. After dinner, the group gathers to chat and hear stories from the guides, safety assistants, and porters about life in the mountains and forests of Phong Nha, before spending the night at camp.
On the second morning, you will wake to the aroma of breakfast prepared by the Jungle Boss chefs. After breakfast and packing your belongings, the group continues for about 30 minutes along a gentle trail to Entrance 1 of Victory Cave.
Here, the safety assistants will help you put on a safety harness and prepare for a 20-metre rappel into Victory Cave. From the entrance, you slowly descend into the darkness below, your headlamp reflecting off the damp rock walls, making this one of the most thrilling moments of the journey.
At the cave floor, you follow the slope deeper inside and see formations rising up to 50 metres, sparkling pure-white calcite formations, unusually large cave pearls, and an impressive system of calcite pools that fill with water during the rainy season.
After 30 minutes of exploration, you take on the second, 25-metre rappel to reach Branch 2 of Victory Cave, then stop for lunch inside the vast chamber. After lunch, the group continues exploring the cave and makes its way to the exit.
From here, you trek along the trail, crossing several short sections of sharp karst terrain before reaching the finish point at Km 22 on the West Ho Chi Minh Road.
At the finish point, enjoy cold drinks prepared by Jungle Boss before boarding the vehicle back to the office in Phong Nha, bringing your 2-day, 1-night Victory Cave adventure to a close.

Phong Nha Ke Bang has 4 seasons with Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, it also experiences a monsoon tropical climate, with two distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season spans from September to March, while the dry season stretches from April to August. During the rainy season, temperatures can drop as low as 17°C, with January being the coldest month. In contrast, the dry season can bring higher temperatures, with May usually recording the highest temperatures, but most of it is reduced when visitors are in the jungle and the caves exploring, as it might drop to the temperature around 23°C.
When you visit Phong Nha in each season, you'll always witness a unique beauty. If you choose to visit during the rainy season, the waterfalls in the jungle and the calcite lakes inside the caves will be exceptionally beautiful and full, allowing you to capture memorable photos. On the other hand, if you opt for the dry season, your trekking routes in the jungle will be drier and more manageable.
Throughout the year, we are at our most beautiful status from April to May when the weather is dry, cool, and the scenery is at its finest.
