Physical requirements and preparation

If I’ve never done ziplining before, can I still join?

If you’ve never rappelled before, you can still join Jungle Boss’s adventure tour. Before you rappel, the guide and the safety support team will instruct you in the necessary skills for this activity.

In addition, for the “Ultimate Adventure Conquest of the Kong sinkhole” tour, the itinerary includes a full day before the tour for familiarization with the equipment and training in the necessary skills before the 100-meter rappel.

What if I don't want to swim or can't swim because of the weather?

In the most urgent case where you absolutely cannot swim, you may be assisted in moving by using the porters’ cargo raft (only applicable to the 3D2N Tiger Cave System Exploration tour).

Which illnesses are advised not to participate in the tour?
  • Cardiovascular, blood pressure, musculoskeletal, and asthma-related conditions are not recommended for participating in the tour.
  • For tours with zipline activities, participants should not have a fear of heights.
  • Guests who have a fear of the dark or of confined spaces should also consider carefully.

What are the fitness requirements for Jungle Boss tours?
  • General health requirements: Participants must not have medical conditions related to cardiovascular disease, blood pressure, bones/joints, or asthma. For tours with rope activities, participants must not have a fear of heights. Guests who are afraid of the dark or confined spaces should also consider carefully.
  • One-day tours require guests to be 9 years old or older; two-day and three-day tours require guests to be 15 years old or older.
  • The “Ultimate Adventure Conquest of Kong Sinkhole” tour requires an age range of 16–65. Visitors must also ensure they have good physical fitness to complete a daily 8–10 km route across various types of terrain such as climbing slopes, climbing rocky mountains, rope swinging (6 m–10 m–100 m), swimming through cave entrances, and walking in dark caves.

What if I have a medical condition? Can I still join the tour?

If you have any medical conditions, please let us know in advance. We will consult with our safety experts to evaluate if we can safely accommodate you on the tour given your medical circumstances. We want to have an open discussion to see if any precautions need to be taken to ensure your health and wellbeing. Keep in mind our tours take place in remote wilderness, away from medical facilities. However, most medical conditions do not automatically disqualify participation. We aim to take all proper precautions so those with medical conditions can participate comfortably and safely. Please be open with us about your needs so we can determine if our tour is right for you. Your health and safety is our top priority.

Am I allowed to join tours if I can not swim?

Absolutely, you will be provided with a life jacket for your safety during the adventure. Additionally, a dedicated safety assistant will be available to assist you throughout your experience. On some overnight tours, a rubber boat is also available. Please refer to the cave swimming skills to be well prepared for your upcoming adventure trip!

What kind of skills do I need to have?

While having prior caving, hiking, and camping experience can be advantageous, it's not mandatory. Jungle Boss provides expert guidance to assist you in selecting the most suitable itinerary based on your level of experience. Additionally, our safety assistants are readily available to support you during trekking or caving activities.

For the Kong Collapse Top Adventure tour, participants are required to undergo a one-day caving skills training session with the Jungle Boss crew before departure. This training ensures everyone is adequately prepared for the adventure ahead.

What are the different levels of Adventure tours?

Our tours span a spectrum from relaxed to highly adventurous. To align with your abilities and preferences, refer to the Adventure Level specified on each tour page:

Level 1: Involves very easy walking and activities suitable for everyone.

Level 2: Designed for casual adventurers, offering activities of easy to moderate intensity.

Level 3: Presents moderate physical activity tailored for weekend warriors.

Levels 5-7: Tailored for seasoned thrill-seekers and athletes, featuring strenuous to extremely challenging experiences.

Personal equipment and usage instructions

What should I pack on the tours?

To minimize your backpack, Jungle Boss suggests what you should bring as follows:

- For the 01-day tour: prepare a small backpack, 01 set of long pants and long-sleeved shirts (recommend quick dry materials), 01 swimming suit, a towel, 01 pair of long socks, sunglasses, and insect repellent. 

- For overnight tours: Please prepare a medium-sized backpack, one or two sets of long pants and a long-sleeved shirt (quick dry), swimming suits, from 01 to 03 sets of changing clothes, 02 pairs of long socks, 01 pair of sandals or flip-flops, sunglasses, insect repellent.

Do I have to bring my own caving gears and camping gears?

You don't need to bring your own caving or camping gear as Jungle Boss provides all necessary safety equipment and camping essentials. However, if you prefer using your gear, feel free to discuss this with our consultant team.

Are there leeches in the jungle?

Yes, there are. we are in the middle of the tropical jungle best place for leeches. However, don’t worry! please wear long socks and keep your pants inside the sock to help prevent leeches. Jungle Boss also provides leeches spray which is very useful.

How to avoid thunderstorms & lightning during the tours?

We acknowledge the potential risks associated with thunderstorms and lightning strikes, which can cause severe harm or even fatalities among hikers annually. While direct lightning strikes are rare, the dangers of indirect strikes demand serious attention. Our priority is to educate on how to prevent exposure to lightning and how to respond in case of proximity to it. 

Jungle Boss has developed a comprehensive risk management protocol designed by our experts specifically to mitigate the risk of lightning during tours. We urge all participants to thoroughly review and follow the provided instructions for maximum safety.

What kind of food provided during the tours?

During our tours, Jungle Boss offers a diverse range of Vietnamese-style food options made of ingredients such as rice, meat, vegetables, fish, eggs, and more. We cater to various dietary preferences including options for vegan, and vegetarian meals. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please inform us in advance so we can accommodate your needs accordingly.

What is the temperature in the cave?

The temperature in the caves ranges from 23 to 26 degrees. In winter, the temperature can drop to about 17 to 20 degrees.

Water in the cave, the underground rivers… how many degrees?

The water temperature in the cave will change seasonally, fluctuating between about 18 and 20 degrees.

Policies and regulations

Does Jungle Boss operate tours during the flood season?

Jungle Boss does not have a fixed tour-closure schedule; it depends on the weather conditions each year.
Jungle Boss tours run on two routes: Route 17 includes Ma Da and Tra Ang; Route 24 includes Tiger Cave, Over Cave, and Pygmy Cave. These areas have different terrain. Route 24 is higher in elevation, so light or scattered rain does not affect the itinerary.

If you plan to join a tour during the rainy season (late September to November), the Sales Team will regularly update the weather situation so guests can arrange or reschedule their plans.

If you can’t go on the tour because of the pandemic, can you get a refund?

Yes. In cases of epidemics or natural disasters, Jungle Boss always supports guests in rescheduling. If you want to cancel/request a refund, please notify us 7 days in advance to receive a 100% refund; 3–5 days in advance you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel 3 days before the tour, you will not receive a refund.

What happens if bad weather causes a tour cancellation?

If we have to cancel a tour due to weather, we will inform you as soon as possible and provide alternative options without extra costs, such as an alternate tour, new date, or a full refund.

What should I notice during the tours?

You have to be responsible for the environment. All illegal activities are forbidden. Do not separate from the group, do not jump on rocks or rotten trees, watch your steps, and respect the local customs. Please read the environment protection rules and survival rules here.

If I can change the departure date or cancel the tour, what are the policies?

When do I need to make full payment to confirm my one-day tour booking?

You need to make full payment within 3 days of booking to confirm your reservation for a one-day tour.

If I can to change the departure date or cancel the tour, what are the policies?
