PHONG HUONG EXCURSION 2 DAYS 1 NIGHT
The easy-level camping journey is perfect for families or groups of friends who want to spend quality time together. Enjoy fun activities such as camping, swimming, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), fishing, watching the sunrise and sunset at the picturesque Rao Quan lake, savoring local specialties, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the area.
Tour Details
Considered a relaxing journey, we will start around 2:00 PM when our tour guide picks you up at your accommodation and takes you to the Jungle Boss office in Khe Sanh town. Here, the whole group will be provided with the necessary information and sign the Release form. Afterward, the car will take the group along the Western Ho Chi Minh Trail for about 40km to the Rao Quan lake boat dock.
A boat is already waiting there to take you on a journey on the crystal-clear, poetic waters of Rao Quan lake to the Rao Quan campsite.
After checking in and settling down, you can freely participate in activities such as relaxing swimming, paddleboarding, or admiring the fiery sunset from the million-dollar view of the campsite. Looking out into the distance, you'll see the slowly rotating wind turbine fields, a peaceful scene rarely found elsewhere.
A BBQ dinner is prepared right on the shore of Rao Quan lake with many delicious dishes such as grilled chicken, salt-pepper grilled catfish, grilled pork belly, grilled bamboo tube meat, grilled vegetables, and fresh fruit for dessert. All are prepared by Jungle Boss's chefs, ensuring a delicious and irresistible flavor.
After dinner, the whole team will sit by the campfire, have a chat together, and go to sleep later on.
You will wake up in the cool air, listening to the most authentic sounds of nature like birds singing, and watching the sunrise gradually appear in the distance. In the fresh morning air of the high mountains of Huong Hoa, the whole group chats and enjoys breakfast with a warm cup of coffee.
After breakfast, you can relax by participating in activities such as fishing or paddleboarding on Rao Quan lake.
Around noon, the boat picks up the group and returns to the dock, then the car takes you back to Khe Sanh town. Tour ends.
All meals during the tour are prepared by Jungle Boss's team of cooks and porters. The ingredients are carefully selected and prepared deliciously, with rich flavors. You can refer to the menu for the dinner below:
BBQ party, grilled chicken with chili salt, grilled snakehead fish, grilled pork belly, bamboo-tube grilled meat, grilled vegetables, 1 unit of drink, fruits, minced pork porridge (for late night snack).
Tent
You will be staying in tents provided by Jungle Boss (single or double tents). Each tent is fully equipped with a thick and comfortable mattress, pillows, warm blankets, a fan, and a scented bag. Jungle Boss guarantees that you will enjoy a peaceful night's sleep after a day of diverse activities.
Shower
The campsite is set up in the Rao Quan hydroelectric lake area, where the water is mostly clean and clear all year round. You can freely swim and bathe here. Our safety assistants will always be available to assist you in any situation.
With the aim of protecting the natural environment, you are not allowed to use shampoo or shower gel with chemical ingredients on Jungle Boss tours. We provide biodegradable and environmentally friendly shampoo on the tour.
Toilet
Jungle Boss uses composting toilets on the tour. The toilet is set up in a toilet tent, inside there will be a toilet with a standard seat and a bucket for waste. After using the toilet, you use the prepared rice husk and sprinkle it into the bucket to prevent bacteria and odor. Toilet paper and dry hand sanitizer are placed right next to it. Each Jungle Boss toilet tent has a scented bag to deodorize and create a pleasant scent. Please always use this toilet; urinating and defecating outdoors is not allowed.
Huong Hoa is a district in Quang Tri province. It has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season starts from September to December, which is also when the lush green maple leaves spread wide, casting shadows on the clear, calm lake, creating a beautiful watercolor painting.
During this time, from October to January, the maple forest changes color, from green to yellow, orange, and then bright red, creating a colorful natural picture. Therefore, if you want to admire the vibrant palette with the poetic red-tinged orange color of the maple forest, come here from the end of December to January!
